Free Plastic Surgery Camp | BJS Delhi

For thousands of children and adults living with facial deformities, access to corrective surgery still remains a distant dream due to financial constraints, lack of specialized medical facilities, and deep-rooted social stigma. Addressing this critical gap, BJS Delhi (Bhartiya Jain Sangathan – Delhi) is organizing a three-day Free Plastic Surgery Camp from January 14 to 16 at Muni Maya Ram Jain Hospital, Pitampura, offering life-changing surgeries to underprivileged patients from across the country.

To share details of the camp, a press conference was held today at Anuvrat Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference commenced with the Navkar Mantra, chanted by Shasan Shri Muni Shri Vimal Kumar Ji and Bahushrut Muni Shri Udit Kumar Ji.

Addressing the media, the Muni Shri emphasized that social service should not be limited to physical treatment alone, and that along with plastic surgery, de-addiction awareness campaigns are equally important. He urged society to move away from substance abuse and adopt a healthy, value-based lifestyle.

Highlighting the pivotal role of the Delhi chapter, Dr. Kamal Jain Sethia, President, BJS Delhi, stated that the camp reflects a collective commitment to providing dignified and accessible healthcare.
“This camp is not charity, but our moral responsibility. The entire Delhi chapter has worked tirelessly—from outreach and patient registration to hospital coordination and post-operative follow-up—to ensure world-class treatment without any financial burden on patients,” he said.

Camp Convener Vijay Jain informed that the camp will provide completely free corrective surgeries for congenital facial deformities such as cleft lip and palate, squint, facial scars, and marks.
He added that OPD consultations, medical examinations, and lab tests will be conducted on January 14, followed by surgeries and free post-operative care on January 15 and 16.

Explaining the guiding philosophy of BJS, Pradeep Jain, National Minister, said,
“These camps are not just medical interventions; they are powerful tools of social transformation that restore confidence, dignity, and hope.”
Founded in 1985 with its headquarters in Pune, BJS is a non-political, non-profit organization actively working in healthcare, disaster response, education, and social development. Since 1993, BJS has successfully conducted over 300,000 free plastic surgeries, primarily for underprivileged children.

Rajesh Khivansara, National Head – Foundation Projects, stated,
“Every surgery is not just a medical success, but a new opportunity for life, education, and social inclusion.”
This will be the sixth major plastic surgery camp organized by BJS Delhi, with expectations of benefiting over 100 patients during the three-day program.

Surgeries will be led by renowned US plastic surgeons Dr. Larry Weinstein and Dr. Whitney Pafford, in collaboration with senior Indian doctors. The hospital is fully equipped with modern facilities to ensure safe and high-quality care.

The entire press conference was efficiently conducted by Navnit Duggar, Senior Vice President, BJS Delhi.
More than 75 media representatives attended the event, and all queries during the Q&A session were addressed by the BJS Delhi team.

Providing strategic guidance, Sukhraj Sethia, President, Delhi Terapanth Sabha, said,
“The goal of BJS Delhi is not short-term relief, but long-lasting and positive social change.”

For registration and further information, BJS Delhi has released a dedicated helpline number: 902433322, and patients from across India are encouraged to pre-register.

Enhancing the significance of the camp, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is likely to visit the hospital on January 14, the first day of the camp.

This initiative stands as a strong reminder that quality healthcare should never depend on one’s ability to pay, and that true healing restores not only faces, but also confidence, dignity, and hope.

At the conclusion of the press conference, Narendra Jain, Secretary, BJS Delhi, presented the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all media persons, guests, and collaborators for their support in promoting this humanitarian initiative.

Nikas Safronov’s exhibition opens in Mumbai with the support of the Rosneft Oil Company.

Rahul Dutta: Supported by the Rosneft Oil Company, an exhibition by Nikas Safronov, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, opened on December 30 in Mumbai, India. The exposition, titled “Dream Vision,” has already welcomed its first visitors at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in Mumbai. The exhibition will run until January 15, 2026.

The exhibition in Mumbai was a logical continuation of the successful project in New Delhi. Then, in December, Safronov’s exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi National Academy of Arts attracted more than 314,000 viewers in two weeks, including representatives of government and international organizations, leading art critics and curators. The project has become the biggest social and cultural event of the season.

The exhibition in Mumbai includes 45 works that reveal the key stages of Nikas Safronov’s work — from the academic foundations of painting and symbolism to his unique, patented “Dream Vision” style. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by large-format LED screens that create the effect of a transition from real space to the world of images. Of particular interest are paintings where recognizable forms of Russian ornaments — gzhel, khokhloma, palekh — acquire a new sound.

The central element of the exhibition was the space organized under the main dome of the gallery. The key idea of the project is revealed here — combining the cultural codes of East and West through the synthesis of classical painting and modern technologies: installations, light, sound and digital solutions create an immersive environment. A multimedia installation in the form of a five-hundred-meter animated Hindu mandala has been developed especially for the exhibition.

The name of the exhibition “Dream Vision” reflects Nikas Safronov’s corporate identity, a unique patented technique that allows you to create multi—layered canvases that blur the line between reality and imagination. Many of the paintings presented in India are made in this style.

Audiences were especially captivated by a new series of works created by the artist specifically for the Indian public as a tribute to India’s history, philosophy, religious traditions, mythology, and architecture. Art critics have already described this series as a “subtle and intellectual dialogue of cultures, in which Russia addresses India through the universal language of images and emotions.”

The Rosneft Oil Company supports significant cultural projects in Russia and abroad and actively participates in the development of cultural ties between Russia and India. This summer, with the support of the Rosneft Oil Company, the Manezhnaya Square in Moscow hosted the Festival of India with an exhibition of folk crafts, national treats and performances by famous Indian bands. In October 2024, in the Indian city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with the support of the Rosneft Oil Company, a large-scale premiere of the Olympic champion Tatiana Navka’s ice show “Scheherazade’s Love Story” with the participation of world figure skating stars was held with great success.
