The efforts of Canis Welfare Pet Club and SAVA need to be appreciated for spreading awareness among the masses specially children about kindness, welfare and adoption of Indian Stray Dogs. They were also guided as to how to carry out pet parenting to minimize and stop cruelty. More than 50 Veterinarians representing Army, Paramilitary, Central Ministries, MCD, NGOs and Private Practitioners who were present there provided free consultation to anyone approaching them for any difficulties facing them in management and preventive health care of their pets. All dogs participating in the show were medically examined to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

After introducing the eminent guests with their achievements to the public by the President, Canis Welfare Pet Club, Col Ranadhir De, flag hoisting on this auspicious 76th republic Day by dignitaries was carried out and National Anthem played. This was followed by a short speech by Dr P D Sharma who spoke about the role and accomplishment of SAVA and the encouragement it received from Dr Vijay Kumar particularly about animal welfare activities of Street Dogs. Dr Bhupender Chahal had kept an eye on all minor details like feeding dogs, cleanliness of the show area so that the event went like a clockwork precision.

Thereafter a panel of 10 Judges from the Army, Central Armed Police Force and eminent Veterinarians started judging entries in two enclosures. More than 100 dogs belonging to different breeds participated, like German Shepherd Dog, Labrador Retriever, Rottweilers, Great Danes, Spitz, Cocker Spaniel, Golden Retrievers, Beagle, Pomeranian, Boxer, Pug, Shih Tzu, Toy Poodle, Miniature Pinscher, Chowchow, Dobermann, Lhasa Apso, Pitbull, American Bully, Dachshund. Even local Indie dogs including Senior dogs aged more than 10 yrs and Handicapped dogs with 3 legs and other disabilities showed keen interest in participation. Credit goes to the pet parents who, despite the life’s difficulties showed full energy and vigor in taking them round the enclosures to exhibit them to the judges and answered all queries. All including children were so thrilled when they saw dogs in their Fancy Dress attire trying to draw attention and applause from them.

All the awardees were given trophies and those winners who got the first position were in addition given packets of feed costing about one thousand rupees. Luckey draw was also carried out in which 3 LED TVs, 3 Mobile Phones and 3 Electric gadgets were given to the winners. The public at large conveyed that they would encourage other pet owners and friends from their neighbourhood to participate in the event next year i.e. 2026.

The couple already has 12 pets and alongside a colourful world of birds and aquariums with varied breeds of fish. And to add to that, they have added a really special new member in their cute and adorable family. The couple have brought home India’s first-ever sphynx cat all the way from Russia and they have named him Shaman. The couple have been pet parents for a long time and now, their new baby is winning hearts immensely. On being asked more about the same, Rishabh shared and we quote.

“Well, I feel that the hallmark and true identity of any country is noted by the way they treat their animals. As a country, we can do a lot better in terms of treating animals right. At the same time, charity begins at home right? Me and my family have a culture of raising animals and making it a better place for them to the best extent possible. They are beautiful, adorable, loyal and connected to us. Emotions and emotional wavelengths are very important. Me and my wife are humongous animal lovers and animals are truly our world and so we are happy to have Shaman in our lives. I hope we as a country get even better in terms of raising and treating animals and showing them the love they always deserve.”

Well, congratulations to Rishabh and his wife for bringing home India’s first-ever sphynx cat from Russia and kudos to them for such positive thoughts. While Rishabh and his music have always been recognised as beautiful and mesmerising, his positive thoughts and values of life certainly makes him an equally beautiful human being. Palak’s journey began in 2018 when she was just 12 years old, competing and winning medals in national junior competitions. Since then, her winning streak has continued unabated, showcasing her dedication and skill.

Despite her young age, Palak has earned numerous accolades, including the Prime Minister’s National Child Award in 2021 and Madhya Pradesh’s prestigious Eklavya Award in 2022. She is also the brand ambassador for the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, a flagship campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Just five days before the championship, Palak faced a personal tragedy with the loss of her grandfather. However, she displayed immense resilience by deciding to participate in the tournament despite this difficult time.

In her statement, Palak expressed, “My grandfather was very dear to me, and my focus is now on winning a medal in his honor. Many suggested I skip the tournament, but I believe that if legends like Sachin Tendulkar can play for the country and score a century after losing a loved one, then so can I.” With this determination, Palak has confirmed her participation and is set to depart for China on October 21, along with the rest of the team from Delhi.

The event drew thousands of devotees on the ground to witness the annual ritual – the burning of an effigy of demon king Ravan. Many people of Hindu faith observe Dussehra through special prayer meetings and food offerings to the gods at home or in temples throughout India. They also hold outdoor fairs and large parades with effigies of the demon king Ravana, which are burnt on bonfires in the evening. Idols of goddess Durga are immersed in bodies of water.

Day 4 of the TV9 Festival of India saw a visit by prominent guests including; MPs Mahesh Sharma, Manoj Tiwari, Congress leader Pawan Khera, AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Union Minister and National President of Apna Dal (S) Anupriya Patel along with her husband Ashish Patel, Cabinet Minister in the Yogi Govt. they worshiped Maa Durga and took the blessings.

The day started with Navami Puja, followed by Pushpanjali and Bhog offerings. A havan for good wishes, Chandi Paath and distribution of Prasad were also performed. In the evening Sandhya Aarti was performed. Amidst all these, the day was made special for the children. Various activities were designed for the children, from drawing to dance to fancy dress were prepared. Anand Mela was also organized. The festival is a fair where Indian culture, Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and unity in diversity are being served on a platter.

Delhiites were seen immersed in devotion, the excitement of the colorful program is a proof of its completeness. From children to the elderly, everyone is participating in the festival with great enthusiasm.

Talking about food, one can enjoy Punjabi food, Litti Chokha from Bihar, Kabab from Lucknow, Pav Bhaji from Maharashtra, and Rajasthani dishes. Along with this, Chinese food is also available along with Delhi’s Gol Gappa and Chaat. For a unique shopping experience, more than 250 stalls from India and abroad have been set up in the festival, where you can easily shop for different products.

The festival will conclude on October 13 on the occasion of Vijayadashmi with Sindoor Khela and Devi Puja.
